Basketball and Porch Pooch

Here is the 37 week Porch Pooch. I took my coat off for the picture but it was COLD! We woke up to snow again today and it is so beautiful! I love it even if waiting for the train is a bit chilly now. The doctor's appointment went well today. I am not dialated any but she could feel Marin's head. Yikes. They changed up the adjective today and instead of saying "big baby" she went with "solid baby". Burke asked her to feel my stomach and tell us what body parts we were seeing/feeling. She felt Marin's behind and that's when she said, "Yeah, you've got a solid baby here." We laugh.

You can't see the snow but here is a beginning of winter-ish picture of our street. I'm sure we will see a much better view of winter on our block soon.

Burke and I went to the Northwestern/GA Tech game Tuesday night. We thought we should try and squeeze in a game before the little one arrives. It was a lot of fun and I forgot that I make weird noises and jump a lot during basketball games. But don't worry, Burke was quick to make fun of me. And....Northwestern WON!

(Heather, I can post a lot because I'm not teaching like you are. I have a family that is slightly obsessed with this thing. And I don't write deep thoughts like you....I just post pictures with captions. I'm lazy.)

Porch Pooch- 35 Weeks

Here she is at 35 weeks. Sooooo close!!! The doctor appointment yesterday went well. Nothing new to report but she is still looking good and healthy. December 24 is just around the corner...

And we had to stop by and see the Christmas tree at Macy's in the Walnut Room. It's as huge as I am and beautiful!

And Burke is going to take me on a little pre-Christmas date next week!! We will have lunch at the Walnut Room and then go see A Christmas Carol downtown! We can't wait! He's good to me.

Burke made me put this picture even though I hate it.

32 Weeks Porch Pooch

Here is the 32 weeks picture. She is definitely growing.

And because Burke had a lot of coffee this morning and was a bit wired, here is his cheesy pose on the bench....

and then on the stairs.....

and then by the tree....

I couldn't stop laughing. The man is funny.

29 Week Appointment

We had a doctor's appointment this morning and everything looks great! We listened to her heart beat which is always sweet!
We go back November 2 for an ultrasound to see how big she is getting. And then we are already at the point where we go every 2 weeks after that....

Mom, here's another porch pooch picture. I am huge.

Porch Pooch- 28 Weeks

I have already started telling Marin that she should come out at 37 weeks. She will be fully baked by then and well, I just don't see any reason for her to stay in there those extra 3 weeks. That's what the book says....
Thankfully, I'm not throwing up anymore but I still get nauseous quite a bit. Bummer. But now the lovely hemorroid segment of pregnancy is in full force. Seriously??!!?!? I mean, really?!?Yippee. I'm not sure which part I enjoy more. Oh brother. My little girl thoroughly enjoys taking over my entire body. It really is quite humorous. (Sorry if this paragraph was a little TMI, but I want Marin to know that she did indeed take over my whole body for 9 months and that she owes me calm and beautiful junior high years. That how parenting works, right?)
I do love feeling her move around though. And she does MOVE AROUND. Whoa. The girl is busy. all. the. time. Burke will probably get her a gym membership as soon as she comes out. And some days it does seem she is just as ready as I am to come out and play! So sweet!
And the doctor called this week to get insurance information, etc for delivery. It doesn't seem like that is possible...but I know it is just around the corner. We can't wait to meet this baby!

Here is the 25 week porch pooch picture. Yes, I am big and from what I hear you double in size in the last few months. Oh dear. I can't believe it's the middle of September. December will be here in no time!!

24 Weeks

We had a doctor's appointment today and everything looks great. Marin is growing into her big head quite nicely. The ultrasound lady gave us 3D pictures this time. Of course, I think they can look a bit creepy but it was fun seeing her today. She was moving around and kept getting her hand in the way of the picture but she did get these pictures.

I know it is really hard to see the scanned pictures on here but in this picture I think Marin has Burke's mouth. She's gonna pop and look just like him I know it.

She looks rounder from this angle...so I can say she looks like me in this one. :o)

And whoever can figure out what this is will be the blog post winner?!?!?
(I have no idea what this is. I'm sure the lady told me but I have completely forgotten. Hoping you guys know....)

Shocked!

We had our 20 week appointment today. Halfway! Everything looks great. Our baby has a big head...99 percentile. Burke finds this very amusing. But we secretly were going to find out the gender but not tell anyone. We are mean. But that's when we were certain it was a boy. We both have boys in our family. So you can imagine our surprise when she told us....it's a....

GIRL!!!

Total shock. Here is a picture of Miss Marin Jordan all snuggled away...

She wasn't cooperative again this time. She was all stretched out and didn't want to move. But here is a sweet profile picture of her.

And the shot of the day....

This is a 3D picture of Marin. The 3D pictures were a bit creepy. But here she is with her hand by her ear. I love that you can see her little fingers!

We are very shocked. Burke is already budgeting for a wedding now. Yikes. But we are so very happy! Can't wait to meet you, Marin!

And a few more sewing projects.
A little airplane bib (even though Burke's not the biggest fan of the plane stuff).

And a boppy pillow cover with the brown polka dot fabric. Maybe I will put a hot pink M on the center now. :o)

18 Weeks

Here's the porch pooch picture at 18 weeks-ish. (I'm not a fan of pregnancy math. I'm not a fan of any kind of math though.) But we had a doctor's appointment this week. It was a pretty boring visit. No ultrasound but we were able to hear the heartbeat. It was in the mid-upper 140s. It was sweet! The last two days have been wonderful! Hopefully, fingers crossed, the "swine flu" stage of this pregnancy may be making its exit!

I'm not sure what Burke was doing with this picture but you can see the baby from my angle. :o)

My mother-in-law gave me this Pregnancy Journal and it is so helpful for us. I'm not the greatest at journaling but it does have a section for the doctor's visits. We write down questions we have throughout the month for the doctor. It was so helpful at the appointment going down our list and knowing we hadn't forgotten anything! Thank you, Mary Beth!

While we were down there, we ordered me a new passport with my NEW NAME! We have most of the other paperwork done. But as we were walking back to the train, we saw the Eye.

Of course, we had to get a picture. I always think that I look more pregnant when I am standing next to Burke.

And baby shower dates are set! We have some great friends across the country!
Huntsville, AL shower- August 14
Austin, TX shower- September 11
Atlanta, GA shower- October 3
Can't wait to see everyone again!

15 Weeks

We've hit 15 weeks and I wish I could say the morning/all day sickness is gone. But, it is NOT. In fact, some days I feel like it is worse. But I know the wonderful, energetic, 2nd trimester good times are just around the corner....can't wait. Seriously, can't! wait!

Here is the belly picture which Burke lovingly calls the Porch Pooch. The baby is making a bit of an appearance...

And here is Burke's 15 week picture. I wish I could say he has a porch pooch but he looks fantastic. Jerk.

And for those who are asking, no we are not finding out the gender until the baby is born. I have been wishy washy lately, but Burke is standing firm. I think I can wait. Surprises are more fun!
