Back to School 2016-2017

We started school this year on August 16. We were all ready for a routine, Our school day started with a special first day donut and kolache breakfast. :o)

Math class was all about measuring,.....

 Back to school haircuts!

We have started Classical Conversations this year. We do the curriculum during the week and then meet once a week for a class to review/introduce new material for the week plus a science experiment, a fine arts activity, and the girls have to give presentations each week on different topics. CC covers history, science, geography, timeline of world history, English, Latin, and some math. We loved our first day!!

This school year the girls decided to do gymnastics instead of dance. They actually offer a homeschool class so we get to go a little earlier in the day. The girls LOVE it!

We do school Monday - Thursday and leave Fridays for Fun Friday! We will do field trips, play dates, fun stuff on Fridays. Our firs Fun Friday was a trip to the new trampoline park. It was fun!!

And last but not least, as a big kindergartener, Marin got to pick out a new special Bible she will get to use in the "big classes" upstairs. Next week at church there will be a special Bibles and Bagels time where the Bible will be presented to each kindergarterner. She is so excited about her new Bible.

Summer 2016 Post 5: Summer Science....FROGS!!

We studied butterflies in the spring and then watched the life cycle of a frog in the summer! They were so cute!! These are terrible phone pictures but they were fun to watch!

Summer 2016 Post 4: Highlights of the Summer

And here we go....
 This girl.
She loves two things....her baby dolls and her puppies.

We got a new dog.
Went into Petco for a fish. Left with a dog.

Marin did her first theater camp this summer. They practiced and performed The Lion King. She did a great job!

Did I mention she loves her baby dolls and her dogs?

Making her Daddy proud with a Jayhawks hat on!

She HAD to get holes in her ears.

She did NOT want holes in her ears. ha!

Momma got a new 'do.

And allergy testing. Poor Hollis she is allergic to everything. Trees, grass, dust mites, and...DOGS!!! :o( She has to do an inhaler everyday and a nose spray daily.
Marin still has her peanut allergy.
And Hollis always makes a fashion statement.
Pick your battles.

Summer 2016 Post 3: Church Fun

We had several fun church activities this summer that the girls participated in! First, they made Blessing Bags for the homeless. Then they did a baking service project with older women in the church.  Then....VBS! And lastly, the kids performed a skit and lead the church in songs for the night of children lead worship. It was a fun and busy summer!
