Maternity Family Photos- Hollis Adelaide

Sally Cavanaugh Photography  took some maternity photos as well while we were in Wichita. I love them so much! Here are Hollis Adelaide's first photos with big sister and family!

I absolutely LOVE that she has her hand on her baby sister in these next photos.

One of my FAVORITES!

I love this one because it is a true picture of what Burke and I are like these days.
I'm always laughing at something he has said or done.
Here, in this particular photo, it had taken me a good 45 minutes to get in this position and,
for those that know Burke, he had some pretty hilarious commentary on the event. :o)
He is really funny.

Hollis, we can't wait to meet you!
We had our doctor's appointment this week and Hollis' heartbeat sounds great and she is growing at just the right pace. We go back in 2 weeks for an ultrasound so we can get more pictures of our little girl growing!

11 Months Old

  • You love your books. Peek a Who? is your favorite now and you get so excited when you find it in your book basket. You immediately bring it to us to read. I love it!
  • You climb into any basket you can find.
  • You say "no no" when you don't like something. But when you say it, you pucker your lips up. Adorable.
  • You have definitely noticed your little sister growing. My belly seems to get in your way and you will lift my shirt and point at it quite often.
  • And you have felt baby sister Hollis kick! In fact, you kicked back! I was nursing you one day when I finally tuned into the fact that I was getting beat up by two little girls! Hollis was particularly busy and was kicking while I was nursing you. Apparently you could feel the kicks because every time Hollis kicked, you kicked back. :o)
  • You love to eat and you have to try EVERYTHING...even if you don't like it, you will try it. Please, oh please, stay this way! But waffles, Baby Mum Mum Vegetable Rice Husks, and spinach/fruit combos are your favorites!
  • You are the most adorable thing playing peek a boo. You cover your face with your blankie and wait for me to say "Marin, oh Marin, where are you?" over and over again before you reveal yourself with a big grin. I love it.
  • Music is still one of your favorites.
  • Most days you show no interest in walking by yourself. You will grab your walking toy and go walking.  But crashing into the wall or couch and hearing us say "boom" is more fun to you than the walking part. But when you get to walk back and forth to mom and dad, you are in heaven. Again, I think its because you are getting dad's attention, then mom's attention. And that is more fun than the walking part. You have taken a few steps but nothing official yet. You take your time, sweet girl. We are in no hurry to see what you can get into once you are walking. :o)
  • You love bath time and brushing your teeth. And you are learning that when we sing the "clean up" song in the tub, it is time to put our toys away. You are such a big and cute helper. You hand us all your toys so we can put them in the high basket. Thank you for your help!
  • You have two bottom teeth and FOUR teeth coming in on the top. Two have already broken through the gums and the other two are right there about to pop out.

Trying to see her numbers.

This is Marin's personality in a snapshot!

She was very interested in stretching out in the chair this time.

LOVE HER so much!

Love the hair, Marin!

And of course we have to turn and do some climbing.

"Marin, oh Marin, where are you?"
Peek a boo!

Marin Meets Santa Claus

Today we took Marin to get her picture taken with Santa. She did so great! Santa asked right away, "Will she cry?" Ha! Poor guy. But at one point, she smiled and waved like she was the main attraction.  She liked him and they were nice to let me take some pictures with my camera.

This one is my favorite!

She got some reindeer antlers for being such a good girl. :o)

And let Christmas begin!

First, sorry for all the blurry pictures. I really enjoy Christmas time and being a parent this year is only making it  so much more FUN! I've had this little tree for a long time and now it gets to be Marin's "play" tree. We decorated it today with some colored lights and jingle bell ornaments. It's small so if she wants to pull it down, so be it. If she wants to pull off every single ornament, they won't break. She can just have fun with it! Then we put out our basket of Christmas books that we will be reading to her this year. Plus some Santa Claus stacking cups things we found at a yard sale this past summer. I wasn't sure then if she would play with them, but she loves them! And then there is her "Jingle Bell" dog that she could dance to all day if we could stand it.
She loved decorating the tree. She would put the ornaments on the tree. Then she would take them off. Then on, then off. She had a blast! And it was so fun to watch her!

She loved it.

She did a great job putting the ornaments on the tree. :o)

Getting another jingle bell ornament for the tree.

Precious!

Shake those jingle bells!

Admiring her hard work!

Her books, her Santa stacking cups, and Jingle Bell dog.

It was this neat for about 30 seconds. Then the playing began!
She is so cute playing with it all.

Our family tree!

And our stockings!

Tis the Season....

We had a power outage on Thanksgiving so we got to pull out the Christmas decorations. Marin had a blast playing with red ball garland. I am so excited about her first Christmas!!! We finished the tree today and took her to her first Christmas outing....Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Helping decorate the tree....

Trees were decorated with tons of lights.
They had monkey, penguin, and other animal lights but there were too many people
to get good pictures. Always got a stranger's head right in the middle of the picture.

Marin had fun!

I couldn't find her gloves and we needed to go so she is wearing a pair of socks on her hands.
Hey, it worked.

Trying to get a picture of her in her first Christmas outfit.
Um, she has an outfit for just about every single day in December....thanks to hand me downs! ;o)
