Hair Cuts!

Hollis got her first hair cut today and Marin got her short, Texas hair cut! I love them both!
The "before" shot.

The after shot!

She is ready for a hot, Texas summer.

And Hollis...lost her mullet!

The Windy City is blowing us to....

TEXAS! We are in the process of moving to the Houston area. It's been a bit of a mess. We put an offer on a house and it fell through at the last minute. So we found another house and it fell through and then so on and so on and so on. So we finally went to a different area and found a BEAUTY. We are still getting all the paperwork completed on it but it looks promising. I am so very excited. Hopefully, I am not jinxing it by writing this post! But here are a few pictures of our soon to be home!

First, they aren't great pictures. And if there is wallpaper, it's coming down. And if there are ugly curtains hanging up, they will be coming down as well. :o) We do have a few projects in mind for our little home!

Isn't she beautiful!

The entry way and foyer

The kitchen "island" and stovetop. And Burke the money cruncher on the calculator. :o)
Behind us in this picture is the laundry room/closet and then over to the left is the sink with a big beautiful window!

This is the formal dining room but we are going to use it as a little family library.
We would never use a formal dining room but we do need a fun, cozy place for all our books. :o)

This is the breakfast room off of the kitchen.
Then the family room is in the background.

This is the family room. Its off of the kitchen/breakfast room.
And it has doors that lead to the backyard (which is amazing).
I'm not sure what this room is supposed to be but it has french doors that close it off.  Its big and has lots of great light.
It will be our play room. I've got fun ideas for this room too!

This is the master bedroom.
The house has 4 bedrooms and they are all upstairs.
The Master bath. It is huge. And has ugly wallpaper. But we will fix that. :o)

The foyer from upstairs.
The doors to the playroom on the right.
"Library" to the left.

The yard. This picture is terrible of the yard but it really is beautiful.

The patio, gazebo, and fire pit. :o)

Fingers crossed, prayers and good thoughts....we only have one more hoop to jump through and this home is ours!

Easter

We went to Fort Worth to spend Easter with my sister in law and her kids. I love this family so very much. I kinda stalk Betsy (you would too...she's fun and beautiful and she made some really great meals...) and I would kidnap Kate and Carson if I could. And this past weekend I really wanted to kidnap them. Seriously, they are the best little ones. They are old enough to understand Marin and Hollis are little but still young enough to kinda "play" with them. Marin absolutely ADORES Carson. She calls him Carsie and will call out "Carsie, where are you?" all the time. It was so sweet to watch them play with each other! But we dyed easter eggs, went to church, and had an egg hunt.

We had a little fashion show with Kate's hand me downs.

I love this little girl so very much.

Loving playing with Carsie.
He was so sweet to her.
She loves him so very much.

She looks like such a big girl playing with the doll house.
Love her.

Coming for the camera...

Playing so well together!

Hollis loved the big bunny.
She dragged it around everywhere.

Marin loved the Easter Bunny.

Hollis ready for church in her Easter attire. Thanks Kate for the dress!

Betsy got a group picture. But I was a bit late.

Marin found the pen at church.

We rented a mini van (i love mini vans) but we all got to ride together.
I love this little backseat glimpse of Betsy and Carsie.

This is one of my favorite hand me down dresses from Kate. (Thanks Mimi!) But last season it was too long for her.
I think it is so cute!

March...

So March was a bit cra...cra...crazy. We have a lot of big changes ahead for our little family. It deserves its own post...so it will come soon when everything is 100% set in stone. But for now here are some pictures of some of our happening...

First, Marin got to enjoy a nice, Chicago, spring day a few weeks ago. :o)

The rocking horse we got Marin before she was born is now a favorite. Loves this thing.

And now the red car is a Hollis favorite.

This picture just makes me laugh. Hollis' face here is really a perfect description of her personality these days. She is hilarious. A mess but hilarious.

We did some St. Patrick's Day art activities...glued green hearts into shamrocks. She looooved it. Showing her work...

Hollis' new trick is being able to get in the chair all by herself.

I found, I mean Marin found an old camera of mine. Uh, she loves it. She turns it on, points to her subject, and says "say cheese". Here Mickey is the subject of her photo shoot.

Hollis supporting her Daddy's Jayhawks!

We had another "spring" Chicago day and so we bundled up and went outside for a little bike riding. Gotta a little cabin fever up here.....
She fell off her bike and broke her fall with her nose.

Doing some spring time Minnie mouse painting. Marin loved it. Hollis loved it. Well, Marin loved painting and Hollis loved closing the lids on the paint colors. Yeah, it was fun.
A Masterpiece!

See the little hand sneaking over to close the lids....

Poor nose!
She eventually got the hang of it and liked painting with her brush.
She did taste it a few times though.

Pretty excited about painting eggs!
