Christmas Dance Recitals

Marin and Hollis had their Christmas dance recitals this month. They both did such a wonderful job.  This was Hollis' first performance and she may have gotten a "little bit shy". The Christmas dance was never her favorite dance to do but she did give it a try (and then she started crying....poor baby.) Marin had two dances to do her at recital and we all had the song Holly Jolly Christmas in our heads for days.
And here are the pictures....
This was the happiest she was the whole performance.
And that's because Ms. Jamie said if you sit for a picture, you will get a cookie. :o)

The sweet and rowdy Tinker Tots class.

No, I will not look at the camera.
The first round with me. They did the dance a second time with the Dad's. I will upload that video later... But I did steal this copy from our little friend Colton. :o)

 And now Marin....

All lined up to tell their Christmas wish.

Marin, you did so great I have you a box of Cheerios!

Wait....

I mean we have some flowers for you! Hollis got flowers too. And we may have
used the exact same flowers for both recitals. (wink! wink!)

"Mom, can I just go eat my cookie?"

Cracks. Me. Up.

 A little better....a little.
They did have a photographer there that took some really cute pictures of the girls.
I can't wait to see them!

A nothing is better than the "C place" (Chick-fil-a) for a special recital lunch.
Here they are watching the video of their dances on my phone.

So proud of the girls and so happy they enjoy their class and are making sweet, sweet friends!

Swing, Marin, Swing!

Marin also learned how to swing all by herself this November! Such a big girl!

November 2014

So life is crazy and we are loving this time of year! Before I do Christmas posts, I should probably do November posts. Yikes.
Marin is real into playing wedding these days. We went to my cousin's wedding and we talk about it quite often.

We had our family Thanksgiving early because Burke had to work. But we enjoyed our meal and time together. We even pulled out my mother-in-law's fancy dishes for the occasion!
These handprint turkeys are becoming a Thanksgiving tradition.

A couple of little people liked turkey.

Marin loves taking pictures. She also loves directing us in where to sit and how to pose. Very bossy photographer.

I watched our neighbor friends for a bit on Thanksgiving while their mom went on an emergency run to the grocery store. They were playing jail. The ladybug was enforcing the law here.

Burke gets lots of pictures and videos while he is working.  This was a good morning pic.
 A little Christmas card preview.....

It was way too early to set up for Christmas but with Burke's schedule and Marin's excitement the tree had to go up.

Hollis took our reindeer for a walk.

This girl loves everything about Christmas.

Even the playhouse had to be decorated.

Raking the leaves so they can jump in them.

Halloween 2014

We had two princesses this year for Halloween. Princess Jasmine (Marin's favorite princess) and Cinderella. Dress up is a big play time activity around here so those "costumes" actually came from our dress up box. Originally they wanted to be Dorothy and Glenda the Good Witch. Those were the costumes we actually got this year and they got to wear those for 2 other Halloween parties but on the night of Halloween, Jasmine and Cinderella were the costume winners. They LOVED Halloween this year. Our neighborhood was out of control last year but this year it was so quiet. Weird. But we did have a few houses that went all out with the decorations and gave the kids a good scare (which they loved) and some good candy (which they loved).

Burke had to leave for work right before trick or treating but we got a quick picture or 12 with him and his royalty.

Never can look at the camera at the same time. Stinkers.
Marin learned bunny ears from her cousin Drew. She thinks its hilarious!

A little play time before the festivities....
 Jasmine and the Dragon Slayer....

The girls of the gang minus Taylor!

They had to walk through the cat to get the candy. There were some that were really scary....one man in a black suit looked like a statue at the door...when the kids came up and said trick or treat he said "Boo". Scared them to death. They loved. It's weird but Marin and Hollis love to be scared. They think its hilarious. They did not get that from me. I am a huge wimp. You say boo to me and more than likely I will wet my pants.

Don't say boo to me.

Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch

We have a pumpkin patch at a church within walking distance to us. It is the cutest pumpkin patch ever and we go several times during the month. But this year we went to their Fall Festival and then to the get pumpkins with our home school group at our church! It was a lot of fun!

They won cupcakes at the cake walk. :o)

Hollis didn't want to be in the picture. So she went behind me. ha!
