St. Paddy's 8k

So Burke is training for the Chicago Marathon and has signed up a for a few races here and there for some training. The Brednich girls wanted to go down and cheer him on but we were having a rough morning (post about this coming soon) and had to cheer Dad on from home. I did snap some pictures on his way out the door....

His favorite cheerleader!

He had to crawl out of the house so that she wouldn't see him.
Uh, she kinda wanted to go with him. :o)
And would have probably ran the whole thing right along side him.

We are very proud of you, Burke.  And can't wait to cheer you on for all the other races!

Some Play Time Video....

Here are some videos of Marin and Hollis' play time this morning!

And this is a video of Marin signing "please". You need to know I have been working on this for MONTHS! She started throwing little fits when she wanted something, so I would try and redirect her by showing her how to sign "please" and then giving her what she was asking for....using the words "manners and no fit" as well. :o) I thought it would never sink in but the other night she wanted something (food, I'm sure) and I told her to say please and she SIGNED please! I was so excited!

Sister Play Mat Time

Hollis got on her play mat this morning to play and big sister wanted to join her. Absolutely love it!

LOVE!!!!!
Marin just talked and talked to her.

My FAVORITE!

Hollis loved having Marin play with her.
Videos to come.....

Hollis- One Month

Our little Hollis turned one month old today! She weighs 11lbs 11 oz (95 %) and is 22 1/4 (90%) inches long. Time flies....

So far we have learned that Hollis....

  • gets the hiccups all the time (poor thing).
  • loves to SNUGGLE.
  • does not need any type of "warm up" when it comes to crying. She goes directly to full on meltdown. :o)
  • her cries/meltdowns terrify big sister. (Or big sister is just very sensitive to her baby sister upset....either way, if one cries, the other is sure to follow. Fun times.)
  • is a great eater!
  • likes the first 5 or so minutes of her bath but then she lets you know when she's not having fun anymore.
  • is a little feisty!
  • has learned to smile and will completely melt your heart when she looks up at you and smiles.
  • loves to be on her tummy
  • goes right to sleep with Daddy but makes Mom work for it. :o)
  • has a "crabby time" between 4-6-ish. The same time as big sister. Thanks, girls.
  • LOVES her swing!
  • loves music....I pulled out the little CD player for diaper changes (since we are changing diapers a LOT around here) and Hollis loves listening to the music when she gets changed. I pulled out some black and white cards and put up by the changing table and she will just look at them so intently. Love it!

Not real sure about this photo shoot....

"Um, yeah, I don't like this."

And meltdown.
(For you Aunt Betsy)
And....Marin was crying right behind me because she wanted the camera.
They better appreciate these photos when they are older. (I know I will!)
I had thought about doing something different with Hollis and photo editing her monthly number on her onesie. Thought it might look neater all lined up over the year. But I couldn't decide if I liked it so I used Marin's onesie. But here are the other pictures....
The blanket in the background of all the pictures was made by her Aunt Betsy.
I love all the colors!

A little happier in these pictures. :o)

Marin's First Haircut

Today Marin got her first little trim. Her hair grew in so fast that I got a little out of control. So we went and got it cleaned up a bit. Adorable!

The Before shot

YAY for haircuts!

After....a side view. :o)

After....from behind....

Picking out some products.

Trying to sneak a front view picture but the little booger would not stay still!

Hollis was a an ANGEL.
Thank you, sweet girl!

Getting closer....

Success!
Cute hairdo, Marin!
Love you!

A passy shot.
