Cabo San Lucas

Burke and I had another great trip. Have I mentioned I'm spoiled??? I am so spoiled. Here are some highlights of our trip...

First of all, although WE arrived in Cabo San Lucas, my luggage did not. We were, of course, disappointed and a bit annoyed about the whole situation until we got to the resort and saw this....

and this....

and more of this. It was so beautiful that I didn't mind spendng a small fortune on a swim suit and dress to wear for the next day and half....

even if it did look like this...a big blob of pepto bismol.

Again, this made up for it all.

Fortunately my bag arrived the next day. Well, it actually arrived the first day we were there but the front desk wasn't aware that the concierge desk had it. Side note: The concierge desk is a whole 10 feet from the front desk.

Our first dinner in Cabo....Italian. (Just so you know, I have officially become anorexic...gained about 500 lbs on this trip.)

BeaUtifulllll!

Burke thoroughly enjoyed reading and listening to his podcasts. He was even sweet enough to give me a big whopping 30 seconds after each show to talk to him. That's right, ladies. He's taken.

Now for a little beach artwork. Here we are at 7 months....so sweet.

And Burke's interpretation of what we will look like at 25 years.

I think this picture is so sweet. I could go into the symbolism in this picture of how Burke protects me in our relationship. But I can hear the vomit sounds coming from Burke so I better not. Just know that he is amazing and makes me feel loved, beautiful, and safe..thanks!

The water was a bit chilly.

What a stud!

Burke decided to take a swim in the ocean. I learned on this trip that Burke is actually an incredible swimmer. Like he has swam for years and broke records and won championships and such. He's actually a beautiful swimmer. He gave me a few lessons but water kept going in my nose and that burns.

He had a great time but said the waves were very strong. He told me I wasn't allowed in the water because I have no swimming skills and I would drown.

Our second night the resort had a Mexican dinner theater. The people in the crowd were just as entertaining as the people in the show. We got kinda attached to some of the other guests and "people watched" the rest of the trip. Most of them were creepy..like the guy that would lick his girlfriend's whole mouth before kissing her. She didn't seem to mind but it was disgusting. Then there was the opera singer and then peacock hair...well, I will stop before we look like incredibly tacky people. Yeah, the show was entertaining.

This is where we had breakfast everyday. So beautiful!

I haven't said we are cute in this post...so we are cute.

The last day the wind got a little chilly for me. So I got cozy with some beach towels.

And even with all of this stuff...

This still happened...

As a souvenir for our trip and our first Easter, we got this bunny embroidery to frame and put out every Easter. It's so cute.

And we started a while back collecting Christmas ornaments from our trips. Here is our Cabo San Lucas ornament.

Again, it was a wonderful trip and I'm so thankful that we got to go!

Date Night

Burke and I had a little date night in Austin. We went dinner and then saw Phantom of the Opera. It was my first time to see it. It was great...but sad.

We took this picture and then got yelled at by the little old man at the door. Apparently you can't even take pictures of yourself in the theater.
Don't worry, we took three more.

Germany

Burke and I went to Germany for a few days. We loved it! Here are some pictures from the trip. They aren't in the right order because technology hates me.

So, while waiting in the airport, Burke and I played Blackjack. I quickly learned that I could easily become addicted to gambling. And unfortunately, I learned that I have very poor math skills. I really should invest in some second grade flashcards. Burke hates this picture but it makes me laugh.

I was winning so I had to get a picture of the score sheet/napkin. So, maybe I'm a little competitive sometimes.

Frankfurt, Germany

We loved Frankfurt. The people were so nice and friendly.

Frankfurt is nicknamed "Bankfurt" because it is the financial center of Germany.

85% of Frankfurt was destroyed in WW II.
This represents the unity of East and West Germany.

Our favorite German restaurant! Good sausage!

This was one of the three words Burke learned in German. He said them as often as he could... which was a lot. You would think that it would get annoying but actually, it made me laugh every time he said them. No, I didn't learn any words because I'm terrible with languages. I'm still working on speaking English!?!?

Castle from the village in Heidelberg.

Here is another place where the pictures are out of order. Technology is stupid. But this is the laboratory in the pharmacy on the castle grounds in Heidelberg.

Our tour guide was quick to point out that aspirin was invented and the pharmacy was built when one of the King Fredrick's came along. He had a drinking problem...see pictures down below.

Need some drugs? Sure, I know what I'm doing...

The Pharmacy Museum

Ok, here is one of the King Fredricks. There were about 6 of them but this one had the most interesting story. Basically, he was a drunk.

Such a drunk, that he had these big barrels built to hold all of his wine. This one is big but...

this one is bigger. He liked some wine.

He's cute.

I'm cute.

Although Heidelberg has been damaged by different wars in Germany, it was not damaged in WW II because the Germans blew up the bridge entering into the town so that the Allies could not enter.

The village in Heidelberg.

This plaque above one of the doors is for the architect of the building. He had twin boys that were killed. He was so sad at this loss he couldn't continue working on the castle. One night he had a dream and his sons appeared and told him to complete his work. He went to their grave the next day to find the white roses he had left had turned red. He then felt he could continue his work. They said it took around 40 years to complete each building of the castle.

Uh....there's a story about this gate but I can't quite remember all the details. I think it was a gift for a 16 year old princess from her husband. I do remember that although it was an arranged marriage, the couple really did love each other. So she got a gate. The story was sweeter when the tour guide told it.

The University in Heidelberg. They really ride bikes in Germany.

This was at dinner one night. I love this picture.

These odd trees were every where.
We did get to ride on the Autobahn. Yes, the cars were going really fast. We were told that there are many accidents there. Really?? She also told us that Hitler was responsible for building the Autobahn but quickly told us that he was not German but Austrian. That was the first and last time we heard the name Hitler.

Burke, thanks again for another wonderful trip. You're the best friend a girl could ask for. I can't wait for our next adventure.
Everyone else...visit Germany.
