Well, some places have spring....

Marin and I took a quick little trip to Alabama for an early Mother's Day celebration. This is the first year my mom, my sister, and I are all mothers. We had a fun time celebrating motherhood and loving on all our kids together. Burke had a training in Houston so we didn't miss any good Daddy time at home either.

And because Alabama actually has spring....(unlike Chicago...did you hear it snowed here on Saturday? Good thing we enjoyed the little pool when we got the chance. Looks like that will be the only times she gets to use it.) ...I took some sweet pics of Marin! Thank you Alabama for beautiful weather!

Always eating her fingers

Did I mention she is always eating her fingers?

So very sweet!

If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone say, "You look just like your daddy",
I would have came home a rich woman!

Mom, I cut you out because you looked ridiculous. Sorry. But Marin is adorable!

This picture makes me laugh.
My mom was acting crazy to get a smile and both Marin and Drew gave her the same expression...
"You are crazy."

83!

We had 83 degree weather in Chicago today. Hip. Hip. HOORAY!!! We celebrated with a walk and some water play time! Marin doesn't really know how to splash yet but she does have those Brednich genes (the ones that cause a little one to be extremely hot and sweaty in 83 degree weather), so she just enjoyed being in the cool water.

"This feels good."

A little kick splash...

So much fun!

She loved the bright colors.

I love her serious little expression here. And those leg rolls.

And of course, she has to snack on her fingers.

Growing, growing Marin

Marin is getting so big. Every day she changes and learns new tricks. She is "talking" more and more. In fact, she talks about 90% of the day. The little Beluga has a lot to say....LOUDLY. She is learning how to really "play" with her toys. She will grab them and hold them, look them over once or twice, then into the mouth they go. She is too young to officially be teething (we think) but there may be a little action going on in those gums right now though. We have been freezing some of her teething toys and she will go to town gumming those things. You can tell it feels good to her. Its cute. She is still "practicing" sitting up by herself. She wants to so badly. And for a child that isn't mobile yet, she sure can get around. We will put her on her playmat in one spot and it won't be long before she has scooted and bumped herself all the way around. Its hilarious. And she has almost mastered the roll over! She gets her body about halfway over and then she stops!

Some tummy time.
She talked to herself in the mirror for the longest time.

"Talk, talk, talk, talk."

Sitting in her Bumbo playing with her toys.

And then Word World came on.....

She loves Word World.

And who wouldn't love the dancing, singing Shark, Frog, and Duck!
They are building the word KITE!

She is doing a great job reaching, grabbing, and holding her toys!

And of course...eating them.

Taking a closer look at her fish...

And the ice cream seems to be one of her favorites. I think because it has a pointy end
and its easy to get in her mouth. This one was good and frozen...
feels so good!

Ok, so Marin was talking like crazy and as soon as I pulled out the video camera, she stopped. The little stinker. But here is a little sample....

And she is so funny when she "gives kisses". We call the slobbery things kisses. Marin calls it, "you put anything close to my face and I will try and eat it". But the slobber is so very sweet. And she is so proud of herself when she is done.

Here is a video of her getting in the pool for the first time.  We are ready for some warm weather here so we can do some more swimming with her. I don't think warm weather exists in Chicago, though. But we are planning on signing up for the Family Swim time at the park pool during the summer! Fun!

Finally...

I got a picture with the sweetie!!

She looks nothng like me.

And the outtakes. It took a few tries before we got a good one.

We were at storytime so she was not at all interested in the camera.

She looks adorable. I look like I'm on drugs.

She is so cute. Even from an angle.

Marin Meets More COUSINS!

Here are some more pictures from our fun trip to Kentucky!
Hudson and Marin
I predict a sweet little friendship here. A little dirt and trucks mixed with some tea parties.
And maybe a little trouble mixed in with it all....

Hudson loved her so much. He was so sweet. I loved watching him with her.

Sweet cousins!

"Read me a story, Chase."
And he did.

Look at that sweet Pierson smile. Marin is so loved.

I love this picture. Every face...every expression is just too cute.

This one may end up in a frame. :o)
Carolyn, I will even leave you in the picture.

Hudson meeting Marin for the first time.
Love at first sight. Sweet boy!

Napping with Uncle Benjy. Love this picture.
Before this was taken, Benjy went for a run and had an allergic reaction.
I thought my hives were bad in Austin...whoa...nothing compared to his!
Here he is in a Benadryl coma.

Marin and Aunt Carolyn!
Carolyn, I love this picture of you!
