Quick trip to Alabama

Burke and I had a trip planned to Midland to see his family but his work trip ended in Birmingham. So instead of him flying back to pick us up, we just met him in Alabama. Marin and I had a little bit of time to see my family as well. I did a HORRIBLE job at both places taking pictures. Horrible. Argh.

Playing with spoons. So much fun.

Teasing Maye Maye. She knew how badly Mom wanted to hold her and she
would just give her a sneaky grin every time.
Eventually she gave in and went to her. :o)

Crawling race with Maye Maye.
Marin won.
Mom had one of those dogs that sings and dances/flaps its ears when you push it's paws.
Marin LOVED it. She would dance right along with it.
When the batteries died, Mom just started flapping her arms and singing.
Marin loved that just as much.

Dinner with the Abercrombie family!
We love our aunt, uncle, and cousins.
Side note: This family fights over who gets to hold Marin.
I am going to have to bring a timer the next time we go down. :o)
Again, thank goodness we are having another baby.

Go Aggies!
We got to see my nephews football games.
It was fun and thankfully not too hot.
But I will say, I am not at all impressed with the coaches of these "little" guys.
Someone (and maybe it will be this pregnant hormonal aunt) needs to remind them this isn't
the NFL....they are 3rd and 5th graders. Lighten up, please

Daddy explaining the plays to Marin.

Walking around with Aunt Cissy!

Museum of Science and Industry

Another free pass from the library.....and this one may have been our favorites. We will definitely go back. We want to try and go at Christmas time because they have Christmas trees from around the world. Fun....

The U-Boat was probably our favorite. If we weren't cheap and didn't have an
8 month old, we would have probably paid the $7 to tour the thing. But
we were losing the Beluga fast so we kept moving.....

Keys....all she needs is keys.

The bunk beds in the model submarine.

Marin is steering the submarine. Its harder than it looks.

Apollo 8

And Marin's favorite part of every museum....the kid play area. And I won't lie,
the other kid part was pretty neat too. Burke and I played with all the gadgets as well.

Crawl, climb, crawl, climb....

The mirror was her favorite part....

Peek A Boo

Climb, climb, climb

The farm section of the museum....it was really neat too.
You could "drive a tractor", milk a cow, plow some fields, etc.
Marin was ready for a nap though.
Again, good thing this was FREE!!

8 Months Old!

Marin....
  • loves her gym class. Whether they are balancing her on a tall ladder or flipping her over a bar, she is always smiling. Loves every minute. Fearless.
  • loves climbing up on the bookshelves and pulling down all the books. Maybe she wants to be a librarian too!?!?
  • loves the printer!!! She will push the buttons and then, of course, climb up on it.
  • can wave now. It's more of a Hitler military salute mixed with a bear claw but we have confirmed that it is a wave and it is adorable! Side story: We went to lunch the other day and enjoyed the weather and ate outside (while the weather is still nice). We were on a busy street so people were walking by quite a bit. And friendly Marin gave each and every passer by a good ol' Hilter/bear claw salute wave. Thankfully, they were all friendly and waved back. Marin was in heaven.
  • is VERY, VERY opinionated when it comes to meal time. She knows exactly what bites she wants and if you don't get it to her mouth fast enough, you could perhaps see a little girl drama. Fun times. But she will try anything once, especially if I take a bite/drink first.
  • loves her Cheerios book. She will put all 300 Cheerios in her mouth at one time if we let her. And the fact that she chokes, gags, and yaks with all 300 doesn't slow her down one bit.
  • loves climbing up the slide and then sliding down....and repeating at least 10 times before we leave the park.
  • will do laps in the bathtub and even put her face down in the water once or twice just to get a drink. :o)
  • loves the double stroller (another yard sale find), but she can sit up and see everything much better in it.
  • loves pushing buttons on the laptop but the "caps lock" key is her favorite because it lights up.
  • loves Wheel of Fortune and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
  • can turn the light switch off.
  • AND has TWO TEETH!!!

We got Marin a "few" books from our local thrift store. Here is a video from this morning of her "reading" one of them.

A little tooth....and a few other pictures

So this is the best I could get of her little teeth. She is so busy but I was able to get a few pictures while she was trapped in the bath tub. Not that she is still in there either. The Beluga does laps in the tub....back and forth, back and forth!!

Hard to see, I know. But she is still so stinkin' cute!

A little better....

This is what I normally get when I am trying to get a picture of the teeth. But just look at those rolls!

yep, too busy for a photo.
And a few more pictures for fun!
Guess we are going to need to find a new place for the printer....

Climbing EVERYWHERE!

Marin loves watching Wheel of Fortune. It is so funny to watch her.
Not sure if she is just exhausted since it comes on right before bed or if Pat and Vanna are just
that entertaining to her!?!?

Loves it!
We are hoping she is at least learning a few letters! :o)

Colors!

Playing with BLUE felt mat in the car....

Shake, shake, shake those colors! from Stacey Brednich on Vimeo.

The color bottles were a good car ride distraction as well!

Water Play from Stacey Brednich on Vimeo.

Some water play with her color toys before the weather gets chilly!

She had so much until she realized she could crawl out of the pool. Then that was all she wanted to do!

Pudding Painting from Stacey Brednich on

She didn't really like the taste of the pudding. But she kept trying to eat it!
