New Blog Name
I would love to take credit for the clever name...but Burke is the creative one behind it. We wanted something that could be for the both of us. Enjoy....

Nine Weeks
I get an email at the start of each week telling me what's happening to the baby and to my body and such. I read them but weeks go by so quickly I can never remember what's happening. This week it did say I need to really start journaling about the pregnancy because I will forget later on. I definitely agree that I will forget later on. So this will be my pregnancy journal.
So far, again, I feel terrible. It's really funny to see people's reactions at work. They either look at me and begin laughing uncontrollably or look at me and just shake their head in pity.
I am still sick to my stomach all day and get sick at random times. I try and remind myself that it is a sign of a healthy pregnancy and I try to be thankful for the sickness. But thankful isn't always my reaction.
A new symptom....well, let me tell you a story.
At the shower Ann broke a glass from her fancy punch bowl set. I called the office and this was the conversation.
Stacey: Hey, something happened and I need a janitor.
Maria (the crazy secretary): Did you pee your pants again?
Yep, now its not just vomiting but it's vomiting and wetting my pants at the same time. It's pretty disgusting.
But I did see a baby at work the other day and I got a little glimpse of the amazing thing that is happening in my body now. It really is pretty cool.
A little note about dad...Burke has been beyond amazing with me. He is so patient and listens to me so calmly and when I am at the point of breaking, he always, always makes me laugh. He is so good to me and so good to this baby already. Me and this kid...we are so lucky to have him. I looooovvvveeee that man.

Three Showers in One
Smith Elementary threw me a going away shower...no, wait it was a wedding shower.....no, no, no it was a baby shower. Ok, so they threw me a going away/wedding/baby shower and it was really hilarious! I am going to miss seeing these sweet friends every day.
First, the cake. My friend Dayna warned me that it would be silly but it was hilarious! Here is it in its full glory.
Closer look....one half...wedding.....
the other half....baby....
baby rattlers and all....
She even put a baby in the carriage.

Mr and Mrs Date Set!
Burke and I have set the date! On June 26th, I will put on a cute little dress (that would make Carrie proud) and we will stroll on over to the Chicago Marriage Court to become husband and wife! We will have a little brunch afterwards and then we are off to enjoy our life as Mr. and Mrs. Burke Brednich.
We are extremely ready to be in Chicago, settled in our new home. It's been a crazy few weeks and we know that we have a few more crazy ones to come....but are so thankful that we will be together so soon!

Pinto Bean
So this week our litte nugget is the size of a pinto bean. I wish I could say that I am glowing and beaming and skipping with sunshine rays coming out of my behind.....but.....unfortunately, instead of feeling the joy of pregnancy I feel like I have caught a new strand of the swine flu. My fingers (and Burke's fingers because he is sick of me complaining) are crossed that the puky stage will be over at the end of the first trimester.
Please, please do not leave any comment saying...."I didn't have any problems when I was pregnant" or suggest that I try saltine crackers and ginger ale. If I hear one of those two statments again, I may turn hostile.
But on a little more chipper note, I have suddenly become addicted to the game of Scrabble?!?!? No where is it mentioned in any of my pregnancy books that this could be a pregnancy "symptom". But I did want to document it somewhere in case this kid wins the 3rd grade spelling bee....

Our Chicago Home!
So we officially have a place to live in Chicago! We are so excited! It's in a cute, safe neighborhood.
Here it is....
the living room and dining area....
The bedrooms are a bit small but that is pretty much everywhere in Chicago. This will be our room.
The bathroom...I love the shelves in the shower.
This will be the nursery.
The KITCHEN!!!
This is the pantry. It's huge.

This is a really neat room off of the kitchen. It is like a closed in patio except it has a cabin feel to it. They added benches and table for a cute little eating space!
And just for fun....
Again, we are so excited and so ready to be there! Another check off the to do list!
Mom and Betsy, our landlady owns a sewing business!!
