My friend Amanda took this picture right after the kiss. Burke gave me the best hug and she got a sweet picture of us!
This picture was taken with Gary's phone. He sent it to Betsy and I stole it from Betsy's blog. (Thanks Gary and Betsy!)

We did it!
So we are officially Mr. and Mrs. Burke Brednich! Saturday, June 26, 2010 was an amazing day. We woke up early, got dressed...red shoes to match Burke's red bowtie...and headed down to the courthouse to meet a handful of family and friends for the big day. Thanks again to all of you who were able to come and share our day with us. We stood in line with several other couples and then once they opened the door we rushed downstairs to be the first ones! I'm not sure the judge was quite prepared for the crowd we brought into the room with us. He kept saying, "You do know this is a short ceremony, right?" We said our vows, exchanged rings, kissed and we were husband and wife....all in about 3 minutes! It was PERFECT! Our photographer, Richard New, took some photos of us downtown. You can see a sampling below. We love THEM and really feel lucky to have found this guy in this new city of ours. Then we headed to Cafe 28 for the best meal of our lives....followed by the best cake of our lives!

Date Night
Burke and I have date night once a week and this week we went downtown and saw....
It wasn't a musical either one of us were dying to see. We just wanted to see how terrible the cheap seats were because we like going to shows but can't get "good" seats everytime. But...the seats were great! And Billy Elliot was SO MUCH FUN!!!! We loved it. The singing was wonderful and the dancing was incredible. It reminded me of my love for tap dancing. If I wasn't wearing flip flops, pregnant, and totally embarrasing Burke downtown, I would have tap danced my way home!
In the theater where pictures aren't allowed. But its date night...I have to get a picture, right?
Again, no pictures allowed but the theater is beautiful and I wanted to at least try. Of course, I didn't do a good job, but trust me, its beautiful.

Big One
Burke and I went to our new doctor today for our 14 week appt. Everything looks healthy and normal. His or her heartrate was 150. We did get another ultrasound because they had hoped to be able to do a test for Downs Syndrome. But the baby was too big. In fact, they were a bit shocked that my due date was December 24th. The baby is measuring at 15 weeks and not 14 weeks. The due date is not wrong. It is still December 24th. Right now, it just looks like we are having a big baby! (Yikes.)
Here are the latest pictures!
Look at that cute little leg!
Burke says he/she is doing the bicycle exercise. (The baby is the only one doing exercise with this body.)
All curled up....

A Day Downtown
Burke and I had several errands to run downtown so we made a day of it. I, of course, was exhausted by the time we got home. Burke, on the other hand, went on a 8 hour run once we got home. Crazy man.
About to get on the train...my first time. It is really easy to understand and I think I may actually be able to do it by myself. Whoa.
And next to City Hall to get our Marriage License! Look how excited he is!?!?!
You wouldn't be able to guess that I had to drag him in kicking and screaming with the guards help.
No, not really.
And there it is....we are almost officially Mr. and Mrs. Burke Brednich.

The very huge building we will be getting married in...
And then after some shopping and dinner and crepes, we came home to practice tying bow ties!

12 Weeks
Well, we've made it through the first trimester. Baby is still growing and making me a bit nauseous at times. But I am feeling much, much better these days!!
This picture if for my sweet Mom/MayeMaye. Here you go...12 weeks baby belly (AKA fat). No, I am not carrying this kid in my butt. Even if it does look like it.
Burke took this on our porch. We love our place and our neighborhood!!!

Road Trip Home
So I started the drive to Chicago on Wednesday after my gradate school class. The Wednesday drive went beautifully until.....
Right as I got off my exit in Springfield, MO, I heard thump, thump, thump. And sure enough I had a blowout. The tire was completely torn. Ugh.
I got the car repaired the next morning and headed out for the remainder of the trip on Thursday. The second part of the trip wasn't as easiest as the first. A wreck, a traffic jam, a baby that made me throw up....but I will say Missouri and Illinois are quite beautiful to drive through. It almost looked like the South!! (Yes, I took these while I was I driving. Safe, I know.)

But thankfully, my wonderful Africa friends, that were not only letting me crash at their house, but they came and helped change the tire. So thankful.
But seeing these "not so little anymore" guys made the flat tire fiasco disappear. These kids have grown up so much since teaching them in Uganda 5 years ago. Elizabeth, Luke, and Preston are all taller than me now. So crazy!! Such sweet kids!

A PooPoo Story
No, I do not have a new disgusting pregnancy problem.
I am staying with my soon to be sister in law and her cute kids while I attend a very boring graduate school class. Seriously, my professor is telling me to "make contact with patrons when they ask questions in the library." Am I really paying for this? Although this could be the poopoo story...it is not.
So, my soon to be niece who is the cutest niece a soon to be aunt could ask for was walking around Wal-Mart with us as happy and jolly as can be....even though she had a very stinky diaper. Betsy and I kept saying, "Shew, Kate, shew" as we finished up getting what we needed. Kate never said a word. It obviously did NOT bother her at all.
So we finished up, checked out and headed back to the car. I put Carson in his car seat and Betsy plops Kate in her seat....squish....Kate, suddenly big eyed, says "PooPoo". Cracked me up. I could not stop laughing. She finally noticed.
So very adorable.
